Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. From the beginning, in the first chapter of the first book of the Bible, God makes it clear that He created both male and female in His image. V. 31...and God saw everything he created and said ...

#GodsGlory Marsha Devotional

#GodsGloryW/Marsha  Marsha Harwood shares a besutiful devotion today with a beautiful reminder we Can have Joy . . .   Joy in the midst of pain, conflict, and sorrow seems to be an oxymoron. And yet the truth about the source of joy can be found in Psalm 16:11, “You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.” Psalm 16:11. Joy comes from the realized presence of God. It doesn’t negate other emotions, it transcends them. The presence of God is JOY. That place where His presence (joy) and our pain, conflict, sorrow intersect…that is peace, knowing He’s with us, He’s got it all under control. Even in the darkest of times, joy can be found because He's always present. There may be a total eclipse of light causing us to be in the dark and not see life clearly but, we will never experience a total eclipse of God's presence.  I’m praying a Blessing for Joy over each of us this Sunday mor...

Dorcas Saturday Oct. 5

The story of Dorcas in the Bible is one of the most profound and inspiring ones you’ll read. In this story, we meet a faithful follower of Christ who served others in their time of need and who herself received God’s grace and mercy in her time of need. This woman’s life and her gift of hospitality, charitable work, acts of kindness, and love for God and his people set her apart in the kingdom of God. When we are introduced to Dorcas, the first thing we learn is that she was a female disciple of Jesus Christ. The only time we see the feminine form of the word disciple in Greek being used in the New Testament is with Dorcas and hardly elsewhere. As a disciple, she was a believer and follower of Christ. She applied the teachings of Christ in her life. The disciples of Jesus were in the inner circle of the early church. We learn that Dorcas was continually busy with charitable work for the needy and marginalized around her. She was a seamstress known for her good work of making clot...

Psalm 16:11 Welcome Ict. TUESDAY

Good morning, my friends   Today is like a blank canvas filled with limitless possibilities. Each moment serves as a stroke of the brush, painted by the Master Artist Himself. By day's end, our canvas will be complete with a contrast of colors. Savor each moment He's given you. It's in His presence that we find the fullness of joy. (Psalm 16:11) Savor each moment and give thanks in all things. Enjoy your day. Painting by Karen Tarlton: www.karensfineart.etsy.com

stes 3:1 Monday

The book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible speaks raw truth about life: there is a time for everything. We can make all the plans we want and dream our dreams; there may be seasons for that, but then there are the storms of life that hit us with their pelting water droplets that sting and attempt to wash every dream (and sometimes our reality) away. Everything is so temporary. Life changes in an instant, and the more we dwell on what we cannot control, the more joy is stolen. None of us has control over the seasons of our lives and the storms that blow our way, but we can control where to drop our anchor.  I've chosen to drop my anchor in the Sea of Hope. Even when the waves are crashing down on me and those I love at times, my anchor holds. Lots of "stuff" has been washed overboard in some of the storms of life, but the one thing that has remained constant is my Hope and finding joy in the journey. Sometimes, I cannot see the joy clearly through the pain and tears of the wa...

#MorningDevotion #FamilyFriday  But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” – Ruth 1:6  These words came to my mind today as I pulled my thoughts together to write a post about family.   I read lots about Naomi and Ruth. I am sure we all have.   We know the stories and the lineage of Christ.  But what came to me today was the love that Ruth had for Naomi.   They were both alone. That is what struck me.  God had a plan for them.  They did not know God's plan. They just trusted him and each other.   Can you imagine if they could have looked into the future.   I don't know what my future is.  I don't know yours.  My family is small. Really small.   But I am here and I know God has a plan.  Where God guides he provides is my current life verse. ...
