Thursday Devotion Gratitude

Image
Always pray to have eyes that see the best in people. A heart that forgives the worst.  A mind that forgives the bad.  And a Soul that never loses Faith in God.   Gratitude helps you see what's there instead of what isn't. We should certainly count our Blessings, but we should also make our Blessings count.    'Gratitude isn't always a celebration when good things happen;  Gratitudes a declaration that GOD IS GOOD  no matter what happens.'          Ann Voskamp   'Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life . It turns what we have into enough and more.  It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order. Confusion to clarity.  It turns a meal into a feast.  A house into a home.  A stranger into a friend.'   Melody Beattie A Heart Full of Joy  Gratitude gets our hearts right with God and aligns our thoughts with His will. It makes us remember and breathes life into the things that lead us to our God-given purpose.  Do you need to improve your attitude of Gratitude

Just Breathe by Marsha Harwood

Marsha . . .  Happy Wednesday, my Friends! Yesterday was a crazy, long day with an extended visit with a new doctor for my hubby.  Sherry . . . I had the same kind of day Monday.  Tests in Houston at new place.  Long story short when it wss over we took a wrong turn and tpured Houston for an hour.  Whew.  Exhausting!   Thank you Marsha for this word . . .  Reprinted by permission Today is a clean slate, a fresh canvas.  A new day brimming with fresh opportunities.  A new day promising hope for every moment. A new day to find satisfaction in His lovingkindness. A new day to choose joy and gladness. Exhale. Just let go of  the heavy stuff  weighing down your life.  Just Breathe. 💕 Inhale peace. "O satisfy us in the morning with Thy lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad according to the days Thou hast afflicted us, and the years we have seen evil." (Psalm 90:14,15) " 'For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake,

Morning Devotional 'Ordinary'

Image
Repost from a blog post.  Writing on a Topic for 5 minutes.  That is all. Start I'm just an Ordinary girl. Going through my old almost boring to some people Ordinary day. But to me it is extra Ordinary. I love my life. God put a spirit in my soul to be just Ordinary me. Just an Ordinary mom and wife. An Ordinary keeper of the home. But if I think about it there is nothing Ordinary about being a keeper of the home. Many years later after my kids have grown and started families of their own I look back and I see there is nothing Ordinary. And so I give myself a title. The title of CHO Chief Home Officer or Organizer depending on the situation. Looking at that title there is nothing Ordinary about it. I love my little ordinary days. I love that I am able to stay at home and be a helpmate to my ordinary 'ole Cowboy Preacher. Ordinary is good. Ordinary one day becomes Extraordinary! Just wait you'll see . . . Stop

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

Image
As I was thinking about the words of the song What a Friend We Have In Jesus this photo came to mind. How often do we think of sista friends before we think of Jesus as our friend. How often do we think of the Joy we have when we're with friends before we think of the Joy we need to have in Jesus.  If you think of the word Joy . . . think of it this way Jesus (zero)0 (nothing) You.   There really is nothing between me and Jesus or at least there shouldn't be.   There are many, many times that I cry out the words of a verse in Psalms Create in me a clean (pure) heart. I add the pure because I want my thoughts and my actions to be pure. Pure in that they are actions that God has put on my mind. But too often I forget to treat him like my friend and ask his opinion. Too often I get in the middle of the day and look at the chaos around me and wonder 'why didn't I pray about my day before it started?' The answer is simple really. I choose my sista friends first.

This post includes photos and simple cutting and gluing instructions for you to make Ministry Tools called Scripture and Prayer Pockets.  Our group has adopted 3 ministries to send the ones we make.  These are easy and simple.  Please do not feel you have to over embellish.  The more you add the heavier it is and adds to postage.  I over embellish for Amy Lane because I hand deliver.  You may choose to send  to  Amy Lane Prayer Room  Galveston  The Perfect Teapot  Michigan  Junk Journal Ministries Berea, Kentucky   You may make any size although the sizes you will find in my description seems to work.  The only real rule is you must include at least 1 Bible Verse.   Message Sherry Legan if you have questions.  Basic Supplies Scissors or paper cutter Glue Cardstock , scrapbook paper , 2 sided or single sided.  Both work.  Bible verse and Faith Stickers  Printed Bible Verses  Lace, fibers, yarn, string  Optional  Supplies  Stamps and inks  Hole Punch  Stapler   Examples of finished  Favo

Our Prompt/Homework List  Today we are picking up at  #3 No Tangled Tinsel.   When we are in December this is the day to finish getting out the rest of your decorations.  When our kids were little and we moved into our Family Home I began decorating on December 1st. For a few years that was plenty of time.  Then one year at Thanksgiving we were sitting at the table it was roughly 12:30 maybe.   My husband picks up his plate turns to our son and tells him to do the same.   I however am still enjoying my Turkey and 1st serving of Dressing.  He then proceeded to come back into the dining room and started carting all the dishes back into the kitchen.   That is until he saw me with a fork hovering over his hand when he tried to take my Dressing.   Don't get between me and my Dressing!  That was the last time we had lunch on Thanksgiving Day.   That was when I started decorating on Wednesday.  Our meal was on Sunday when the man and boy returned from the deer lease.   No Tangled Tinsel i
