June 22 Family Psalm 127:1

#MorningDevotion #FamilyFriday  But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” – Ruth 1:6  These words came to my mind today as I pulled my thoughts together to write a post about family.   I read lots about Naomi and Ruth. I am sure we all have.   We know the stories and the lineage of Christ.  But what came to me today was the love that Ruth had for Naomi.   They were both alone. That is what struck me.  God had a plan for them.  They did not know God's plan. They just trusted him and each other.   Can you imagine if they could have looked into the future.   I don't know what my future is.  I don't know yours.  My family is small. Really small.   But I am here and I know God has a plan.  Where God guides he provides is my current life verse.   My reminder.  I know most of you are Blessed with family.  Enjoy them.  I have collected for y

Guest Post Who Am I by Ruth Stone

WHO Am I? Have you ever asked yourself this question? Who am I? Or, like me, during difficult times, have you ever uttered to yourself, “I don’t even recognize myself right now.” These thoughts have come to me a lot lately as I have been navigating the world of loss, grief, and change. Change that I didn’t want, didn’t ask for, yet has come into my life, disrupting my view of everything, including myself.   We are obviously defined a great deal by our human experiences on this planet. We are many things: daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, employee, professional this or that (fill in the blank any way you want!). We can add other titles: I am chef, maid, chauffeur, scheduler, shopper, nurse, caregiver, fixer…the list goes on and on. If you were to sit down and make a list of all of the roles you have played during your lifetime, I think you would be amazed at how long the list would be. Then, if you wrote down all of the people you have touched with your life, you would be doub

June 11 I Am Chosen..Hello I am A Dandelion

Colossians 3:12 🌼💛 “Hello, I'm a dandelion. A lot of people call me a weed but I'm a friend and come to help you! My flowers are the first food for insects after hibernation and unlike most other plants, I have pollen AND nectar, not merely one OR the other! And I am generous with them! 🤪😉 . When you see me, remember that I'm the ONLY one who wants and can grow in that particular spot. Because: . Either the soil is too compact / hard / stomped and I want to loosen it for you with my roots. . Or there is too little calcium in the soil - don't worry, I will replenish that for you with the dying of my leaves. . Or the soil is too acidic. But I will also improve that for you if you give me the chance. Or a mixture of the above reasons, of course. 😊 . I'm here because your soil needs my help so best you let me grow without disturbing me! When everything is fixed, I will disappear again, I promise!  . Are you trying to remove me prematurely with my root? However me

June 5th Self-Care

Image
Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.  Matthew 6:34 (nas) The Reasons to Practice Seasonal Self Care Seasonal self-care sounds complicated but is really pretty simple. You want to tailor your self-care routine to take advantage of the changing seasons.   Self care by the seasons is recognizing and responding to the unique physical, emotional and psychological needs we each feel during the different seasons of the year.   For example, we all know how we feel different in the winter months versus the summer months. The weather, the number of hours of daylight, along with our own natural rhythms all influence our general feeling of well-being.   When we adapt our self-care practices to fit the change of seasons, we can enhance our overall health and feel more in tune with nature. Like when it is cold outside, we want to do things that make us feel warm and cozy. So, sipping hot chocolate by the fireside becomes an act of

June 4 Draw Near To God James 4:8-10

Image
#DailyVerse #Devotion  Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.  James 4:8  I have struggled a bit today with this verse.  My struggle?  Something to share with you all.  And then I remembered this photo I took Sunday morning. I remembered the feelings I had as I looked up and saw the sun flower (which I have been waiting to bloom). I could barely see it through the leaves. Sitting in the shade provided I have found a quiet place.    A place where I can Draw near to God. Just to be quiet and listen.   God understands.  I really don't have to say anything.  God knows my heart.  Do you have a quiet place?

June 1 Galatians 5:1

Image
#1 “It is for freedom…” By “freedom,” this verse means that we can serve others in the name of the Lord and reap the reward of joy that comes from it (Galatians 5:13-15). Second, it means that we are free to follow the Spirit and produce good works that last forever because we have faith in God and obey God’s word (Galatians 5:16-26). Last, it means we can be generous and help others, and especially our fellow Christians (Galatians 6:1-10).
